Architecture
SeeTec 5 has a modular, network-based approach. All functions are organized in modules which communicate via TCP. Multiple installations on distributed server computers guarantee scalability of the system as a whole.
The Basis is a stringent client/server architecture which separates functionality (one or several cooperating servers) and display / administration (client moduls). There's no need for starting a separate program for recording image data.

The server services can be distributed in almost any constellation over one or several server systems, providing optimum distribution of computing load among the existing hardware. Even redundant video surveillance systems can be implemented with this approach. The administration client is available for the operating system 2000 / XP / 2003.
Another big advantage of SeeTec 5 Software are so-called alarm scenarios triggered by network cameras over SPS controls. Scenarios provide a way to define event-triggered reactions in a very differentiated way, for example by starting alarm recordings or closing doors. The alarm scenarios also determine the display options in the client.
The user administration can message up top 1.000 users, assigning them detailed rights for cameras, control elements and additional SeeTec 5 components like buttons or site plans. Site plans (e.g. property layouts) can be integrated to provide an overview of the surveillance scenario. Cameras can be added to those site plans by drag & drop to represent their actual location, providing a precise view of the relevant camera environment in case of alarms.
Multivendor Approach
The modular approach makes SeeTec 5 Software completely independent from the type of hardware used. Network cameras from renowned manufactureres, like Axis, Sony, Mobotix oder Panasonic, as well as SPS controls or audio modules can be integrated. You can use the best possible hardware for your specific surveillance scenario, thus reaching an optimum preice/performance ratio.
For example, you can choose cameras from different vendors according to their individual strenghts (brightness, control, resolution etc.). We also offer special camera packages geared towards your individual needs
Third-party System Integration
SeeTec 5 offers individual software modules for integration in third-party management systems, providing for example the visualization of image and alarm data. We provide software samples exemplifying the use of those software components.
The modules offer control elements (e.g., the PTZ control oder button bar) and the display elements for the cameras of Seetec 5 client, and facilitate triggering alarm scenarios and displaying image data. For security reasons, access is restricted to read-only. Accessing the server services like alarm scenario administration is not possible using these modules, but only using the SeeTec 5 client.
